Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Henley-on-Thames for lunch and time to explore before enjoying a one hour boat cruise. Then continue to the hotel for a four night stay.
Days 2 to 4 We have included the following excursions:
• Visit to Bletchley Park, once the top secret home of the World War Two Codebreakers and now a vibrant heritage attraction. Time to explore the Bletchley Park stories through immersive films, interactive displays, museum collections and faithfully recreated WW2 rooms.
• Travel the short distance to Waddesdon Manor, a French Renaissance style chateau built in the 1870’s by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild to entertain the fashionable world and house his impressive art collection. Time for you to explore the house and its collection of arts and the lovely gardens.
• An excursion to Chiltern Open Air Museum, where history comes to life in a picturesque 45-acre setting. Immerse yourself in the past as you explore over 30 reconstructed historic buildings and a working farm. From charming cottages to rustic barns, each structure telling a unique story of rural life in the Chilterns.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and head for Richmond-on- Thames for a lunch stop before continuing the homeward journey.
